Illustration in Colour’s fundraiser project and summer programming
On June 8th, Seneca’s Illustration in Colour club raised $300 in donations for aid in Gaza, Sudan, and Congo at the DanforthEast (DECA) Yard Sale. Current students and alumni came together to create over a hundred watermelon buttons to be sold at the event. They also contributed to the project by donating their art prints and stickers.
The Illustration in Colour group was formed to provide students of colour within Seneca’s Illustration program a safe space to meet and talk about their personal experiences navigating the art world. The group strives to provide mentorship from faculty members and industry professionals who are people of colour. For the summer semester, the club has held weekly meet-ups online and off-campus to encourage students, alumni, and friends of the group to connect.
