Seneca is the exclusive school sponsor of The Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF) which took place Saturday, May 10th, 9am-5pm, and Sunday May 11th, 11am-5pm, at Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge Street. It was a week long celebration of comics and graphic novels and their creators, which culminated in a two-day exhibition and vendor fair featuring hundreds of comics creators from around the world. Other Festival events include readings, interviews, panels, workshops, gallery shows, art installations, and much more.
Illustration faculty and students organized by Tim Clark staffed a prominent table at the entry to the festival. In addition, ILU faculty Martha Newbigging held the Mixed Media Comic Zine Workshop at TCAF for the second year. Participants created their own comic book zine in just two hours!
Along with the grad show this festival is a highlight of the Illustration calendar!
