Illustration Students at Museum of the Streets

Jan2016_ILU4_2

In preparation for their own graduating exhibition, the 4th semester Illustration students visited the John B. Aird Gallery in the Ontario Government Building Block at 900 Bay Street where a beautiful exhibit of 50 years of Toronto Illustration by 36 artists was hanging.  The show runs January 12 to February 5, 2016.  The students were met by Gail Geltner – artist, illustrator, exhibit curator and Illustration Advisory board member.  She spoke with students as a group and individually giving them unique insight into the exhibit and the world of illustration.  The photo shows the students holding editorial cartoonists Mike Constable and Ted Jackman puppets created for political street theatre in th e 1970s, 80s and 90s!
