Comics Jam at Canzine
As part of Seneca’s sponsorship of Canzine, illustration Program Coordinator JoAnn Purcell and illustration Faculty Martha Newbigging, along with several Seneca illustration students, ran an all day Comics Jam at the AGO on Saturday, October 29th. Visitors to Canzine, Canada’s largest festival of zines and underground culture, were invited to the Seneca Art Room to participate in the ongoing Comics Jam. Each large format, one-page comic was gradually completely collaboratively through the contributions of visitors. The final comics can be viewed on Instagram at senecacomicsjam.
With over 200 tables showcasing artists books and zines at Canzine, it was also a great opportunity to add to the Seneca Zine collection, administered and housed in the Seneca@York library.
